Natalie is the woman behind Natterdoodle, inspiring people everywhere with her (100% self-taught) heartfelt handwriting and positive attitude. We didn’t get the chance to meet in person, but even over the phone I could hear her smiling. Simply put, her passion is people and Natterdoodle helps her connect with people. But ultimately, "Natterdoodle" is best explained by Natalie herself: "nat·ter /nadər/ informal verb 1. talk casually, chatter; noun 1. a casual and leisurely conversation. doo·dle /do͞odl/ verb 1. scribble absentmindedly; noun 1. a rough drawing made absentmindedly. natter+doodle = natterdoodle Doodled words, especially positive messages, snarky truths and happy thoughts. I started playing with pens and paint as a kiddo. My funky writing eventually turned into an outlet for stress...

Zauber Brewing was founded by my family in 2012 as Ohio’s first nano brewery. With the help of investors, we were able to expand to our 20 barrel brewery and beerhall in January of 2014. It’s never easy trying to start a business and we definitely had our fair share of hurdles to overcome. Two of our biggest obstacles were a delayed opening and a frugal start. Breweries with retail spaces involve many different aspects of two very different businesses under one roof. Because of this, there were many regulatory and business aspects that we had to keep in mind while we worked on building our...

Are you like me-- and love all things local?  I'm kind of obsessed.   Homemade salsas, syrups, keychains, soaps, beer.  You name it.  You can find it at Celebrate Local.  When they first arrived at Easton, the shop started out relatively small, but now they have moved locations beside Panera Bread and have a much bigger layout (as well as way more products). When you enter the store...

I’ve worked in marketing for years, and like many working moms understand, the nightly grind gets tough. You get home from work and as soon as you walk in, the kids ask what’s for dinner. You change your clothes, try to dig something out of the fridge to make, cook, and then by the time you sit down to eat, the kids are getting up because they’re done. And you’re left with a pile of dishes. I was busy, exhausted, and looking to take something off my plate. I don’t enjoy cooking. I know some people make it look romantic, but that’s not what it...

The Little Gym originally opened in 2004, and we recently purchased the business in March 2016. Our sons Max (5) and Nate (2) had such wonderful experiences attending The Little Gym, that we wanted the opportunity to share that experience with as many families as possible. It is such a pleasure to go to work every day and watch the children grow and develop, all with a big smile on their faces! [caption id="attachment_7261" align="aligncenter" width="300"] The Little Gym[/caption] We started our careers as attorneys, but decided that owning a local business would allow us to truly become a part of the community, as well as have...

My husband and I had our first child in July 2013. Our son was born five and a half weeks early and thankfully he only spent 4 days in the NICU. He was (and still is) a tough little cookie! When we were discharged from the hospital, he only weighed 4 pounds 3 ounces; I was so nervous due to how small he was. We named our first child George and ironically, he was born on the exact same day as Prince George (and I promise, we had the name George picked out long before we heard it was in the running for the Prince’s...

My name is Dayana and I work alongside my mom creating stylish and practical handmade aprons for men, women, and kids.  I come from a family of makers.  My mother is a self taught professional seamstress with over 30 years of experience and my dad is a professional handbag and shoe designer with over 36 years of experience designing and sewing fabric and leather. I believe, I was born with an innate desire to create, and I learned most of what I know from my parents. They taught me a love for handmade products and sewing, and using my passion as a stress reliever. I created DayluDesigns in 2013, but it wasn't until 2015, when...

Easton Farmer's Market was created in 2011 to increase awareness of our Ohio Small Farmers, and the importance of sustainability in the community we live, work, and play in. This form of public interaction also creates a social bonding that further ecourages support within the community. Every week, there are featured vendors from around Ohio, live local music, chef demos, and family friendly activities! Our presenting sponsor, EDCI, will also feature a rotating list of their clients showcasing their wares each week. Drink Up Columbus is also sponsoring three Ohio beer tastings throughout the Market season (first one is today-so make sure you're there!) This is the sixth...

Dr. Monique Kademian had been practicing dermatology in Columbus for 7 years before joining the well established group of dermatologists at Northeast Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery in Gahanna. She had always dreamed of having an office in Grandview and this became a reality when Northeast Dermatology wanted to expand. Monique was able to name this location and put her spin on things, making the two locations more like “sister practices”. So, in January of this year, the doors opened at Skin Dermatology and the building is perfect. Perfect in a way that a dermatologist would love! The structure is brand new, and has space for...

After the Zassy's Treasure's Barn Sale, we fell in love with Bee Mine Sunshine and everything they sold. I had to buy a shirt and teething necklace for June--by had to, I mean, how could I not? We showed up to their tent as the sale was closing down, but that didn't matter to them. Marissa and MaryAnne were so kind and took the time to help us find what we needed and we didn't feel rushed--it's like they knew we had an hour to ourselves, away from the kids, and we were going to shop to the very last minute. Right then, we knew...
