Easton Farmer's Market was created in 2011 to increase awareness of our Ohio Small Farmers, and the importance of sustainability in the community we live, work, and play in. This form of public interaction also creates a social bonding that further ecourages support within the community. Every week, there are featured vendors from around Ohio, live local music, chef demos, and family friendly activities! Our presenting sponsor, EDCI, will also feature a rotating list of their clients showcasing their wares each week. Drink Up Columbus is also sponsoring three Ohio beer tastings throughout the Market season (first one is today-so make sure you're there!) This is the sixth...

Dr. Monique Kademian had been practicing dermatology in Columbus for 7 years before joining the well established group of dermatologists at Northeast Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery in Gahanna. She had always dreamed of having an office in Grandview and this became a reality when Northeast Dermatology wanted to expand. Monique was able to name this location and put her spin on things, making the two locations more like “sister practices”. So, in January of this year, the doors opened at Skin Dermatology and the building is perfect. Perfect in a way that a dermatologist would love! The structure is brand new, and has space for...

After the Zassy's Treasure's Barn Sale, we fell in love with Bee Mine Sunshine and everything they sold. I had to buy a shirt and teething necklace for June--by had to, I mean, how could I not? We showed up to their tent as the sale was closing down, but that didn't matter to them. Marissa and MaryAnne were so kind and took the time to help us find what we needed and we didn't feel rushed--it's like they knew we had an hour to ourselves, away from the kids, and we were going to shop to the very last minute. Right then, we knew...

My family story. How did my family become to be? My husband and I were high school sweethearts. We always got along really well-- we were kind of each other's ying & yang. I can get antsy and stressed and am often high energy, while he's almost always laid back and calm. We just fit really well from the get go, I guess. The proposal was actually during the Super Bowl in 2008 over the phone while I was at a friends house. He was based in Georgia at the time and didn't get to head home too often, and when he was ready to ask, he wasn't waiting, and...

My grandma died. I almost died. My stepmom was diagnosed with throat cancer. My mom had a year full of surgeries and we almost lost her. I know, everyone goes through tough times--and they move on--they heal, and they put those horrible memories in their distant memory. They move them to a spot that is not in the forefront, but in a place where only certain triggers cause the memories to reappear. Well, most people do. Not me. So, after my grandma passed away, I was heartbroken. Like, I really felt like my heart was broken. It hurt...

My name is Sonia LaRue and I am one of the co-owners of Azia Rug Gallery. Azia Rug Gallery was founded originally in Europe by my dad, Bruce Saberi, nearly 50 years ago.  Selling rugs was a way to pay for College and also a way to share his native country’s art with the West.  After receiving a Master’s Degree in Engineering and Math, he went to work for Volkswagen and Audi, but his passion for rugs drove him to pursuit his hobby as a career instead.  He opened up his first rug store in Germany and became very successful, but after I was born, he...

Our Cooke family story began at a church service in 1984. At the time, both my husband and I were attending a church, where each of us thought the other was “taken.” We finally connected at choir practice and I quickly invited him to a masquerade party that I was having. When he showed up as Prince Charming wearing tights and carrying a yellow rose, I knew he was the one for me. We were engaged six months later and married in September of 1985 – while he was still an undergraduate student at the University of Toledo. I am two years older so I  had...

When I walked through the door to greet Erica at her office location off Riverside Drive--I had no idea I would be embarking on a spiritual journey.  But, I walked through the door and instantly an awe set in and a calmness entered me. Earlier that morning, Elizabeth and I dropped off the kiddos (Cora and Graham) at a local play café, with complete strangers for the first time. If you personally know Elizabeth and I, then you know we both tend to be anxious.  To no surprise anxiety was running high.   So much, we carpooled together to meet Erica, and the whole drive was spent rationalizing our decision to drop them off. ...

So, as soon as Hot Chicken Takeover responded to me about an interview, my anxiety went through the roof. This was a big one–this was a really good one. I love everything about Joe’s mission and vision, well, and the chicken of course. If you don’t know who Hot Chicken Takeover is, you are definitely in the minority, so I’ll fill you in… HCT (as you might hear it referred as) is located in the North Market, but, in addition, they have a food truck. Their location in the North Market is built on creating a community where everyone eats their meals at long picnic-style tables....
