Bexley was lacking a yoga space-can you believe that?—Until the great minds of Amy and Nikki came together. It was almost fate it seems…the way it all happened. We’ll get to that later, but first a little history. Amy had been living in downtown Chicago for 15 years working as a sales executive for a large software company. She was good at her job, and took pride in what she did. Chicago is also where she met her husband, and started her family. Just after her oldest daughter, Hazel, turned 1, Amy found out that baby #2, Vivienne, was on the way. So, she was busy. Really busy. Any...

Health hasn’t always been a priority for Ryan and Kelly Rauch. Ryan grew up playing sports and “healthy” was used more often to describe his appetite than it was his general fitness levels. At 5’9 (or 5’10, depending on how he’s feeling), Ryan peaked at about 200 pounds after college. Kelly had similar weight issues through college, and it took her dad having quadruple bypass surgery to realize how important health is, and why you can’t wait to change bad habits. The two met through work at a Christmas party while still a bit heavier than either would have liked to admit at the time (they...

My husband Jason and I are the owners and creators of Craft Show Collective. Since meeting, we enjoy working on projects together and sharing in our creativity. My background is in sewing and design, while Jason has experience in all things woodworking. Together, we come up with ideas for our shop, as we are endlessly inspired by our sweet baby girl. Jason and I have always had an interest in all things involved in creative entrepreneurship, so when our daughter was born, we decided to get into the market of handmade, high- quality goods for mom and baby. Craft Show Collective grew organically from a home hobby to a...

My husband and I met in 2009. We met at the Dublin Methodist Hospital where I worked as an RN in the Special Care Nursery, and Andrew, my husband, worked in the security department. Shortly after meeting, we left the hospital, and I now work in the NICU at Nationwide Children's Hospital, and Andrew works as a Police Officer. We married in 2012 and moved to Hilliard in 2013. We had our first child, Graham, in 2014. He is our  loving, fun, and rambuctious 2-year-old, who lights up our lives. Life was great--and we knew we wanted more children. In 2015, I became pregnant and soon...

When I first saw Pocket Produce on Instagram, I was more excited that they were brand new, than what their mission was.   However, soon after I found out about their mission I fell in love.   Eat Awesome. Be Awesome. I was amazed when we got to visit and get a sneak peak of Pocket Produce, but I was more blown away by their story, and even more so by Natalie’s spirit.   We instantly connected over our past Social Work careers as well as our spiritual understandings.  Because, food can be a spiritual process.  And it is for Natalie.  Food has been this spiritual thing for her ever...

Sometimes you come in contact with someone, and you just know you're going to hit it off--which is exactly what happened with Jessica. I'm pretty sure it was her positive attitude and the fact that she is very passionate and proud of her business--Music Palette. After exchanging a few emails and finally reaching our phone interview, I found out I actually knew her through friends of my family. See, I knew I liked her! What's even better is her business. Behind every great business is a great owner. Jessica has literally put her love--and sweat--into this business. She's remodeled it--with a little bit of help from her brother Jason, who...

We have been raving about Be Girl Clothing, and there's a good reason. The clothes are absolutely adorable, affordable, and designed with love from a local lady named Alison. We first saw her clothes at Zassy's Barn Sale and immediately snatched up a fox dress and fancy swim suit--that, I swear-- can be worn safely in the water. From there, we stalked Alison on Facebook and Instagram, first liking every single picture trying to get her attention---then asking for her story, then asking for something a little more. We wanted her to be the first story we did a video on {with our talented videographer Leigh--that story is...

Change is about adapting and adopting, and I have done my very best in the last 3 years. In 2013, my life changed in a matter of 7 months. And it was a drastic change, not one to easily prepare for, and one that will affect me physically, mentally, and emotionally until I am gone. I lost my husband, Kevin H. Michael, of 34 years, my best friend and advocate, my lover, the father of my children, and my cohort in all kinds of mischief (Irish and otherwise). I lost him to cancer. And, I watched him deteriorate from a robust, fun-loving, musical wizard, who...

What I cherish most in life are the take away lessons from beautiful moments. And, at Burnt Toast Farms & Eieio Alpacas I had many of those moments. I had moments of learning, moments of watching, moments of listening, and moments of laughter. What I learned was that people are meant to meet in life. Like, Jason, Donna, and BJ. When they met it was fate, and now today, they run Burnt Toast Farms & Eieio Alpacas together. Hmm, I think I know another example of people meant to meet in life…Elizabeth and I (duh)! But, seriously, I learned a lot about Alpacas and...
